Colin Powell enter stage right ?

The AP is reporting that former Secretary of State Colin Powell is planning on endorsing Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States. In response, Liberal media outlets have hailed Powell’s decision as a grand achievement for the Obama campaign that should bestow legitimacy to Sen. Obama’s potential as an effective Commander-in-Chief. The Huffington Post, The Daily Kos, and pro-Obama journalists like MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell argue that this will detract from John McCain’s foreign policy advantage in this election, and silence critics who have demonized Obama’s ability to lead America’s Armed Forces.

Their is simply one problem with this logic. Colin Powell was one of the main supporters of President George W. Bush’s candidacy and (later) his Iraq War plan. It was indeed Secretary Powell who went to the United Nations on behalf of the Bush Administration to condemn Saddam Hussein’s pursuit and acquisition of WMD. It was Secretary Powell who cowardly stood silent when the neo-conservatives lead our nation to two foreign wars that he “privately opposed “. And again it was Secretary Powell who has still yet to publically retract his statements to the UN as purposefully deceitful in an attempt to legitimize the Bush Doctrine of preemption after 9/11.

Would the Left be THIS ecstatic if Donald Rumsfeild, Paul Wolfowitz, General David “Betray Us” Petraeus, or any other Bush crony endorsed the junior Senator from Illinois ? Would they claim that Obama has strong foreign policy as a product/result of Dick Cheney’s support ? Of course they would not. The Obama campaign has achieved a virtual walkover in the 2008 election because they have convinced the American people that John McCain belongs on the Bush family tree, and would further Dubya’s policies if elected. Democrats are allergic to anything Bush, but Barack Obama and those who support him are welcoming a Bush Administrator’s endorsement with (greedy) open arms. Ask yourself what the liberal response would be if Powell were to have supported John McCain. I imagine we would be hearing how it demonstrates that McCain is a student of the Bush School of Foreign Policy to which Secretary Powell is Dean.

So as this election winds down and Barack Obama begins his victory lap, know that we the American people have been swindled by the liberal media. Obama will win because their spin has distorted reality beyond recognition. The American people deserve better, but don’t worry folks because as a wise poet named Ludacris once said “the world is ready for change because Obama is hereeeeeeeeee”.

Pardon me. I just puked in my mouth.

  1. Suddenly because Powell is endorsing obama he is not as evil as he used to be? Yet, Powell was the one encouraging the Iraq war claiming they had WMD. Anyone with intelligence knows that Powell is endorsing based on race.

98% of black people are voting for obama just because he is black. White people are split between obama, nadar, and McCain. Think about it.

The truth is this is a race campaign. The Democrats control the senate and congress and have the lowest approval rating in US history. The Democrats couldn’t even beat Bush in the elections thus why they are going after the black vote in the US, about 45 million blacks. Thus, why obama voted present over 130 times, avoided the tough issues, and never challenged his party leaders on senate to preserve his political career. Only 143 days on state senate when he decided to run for office.

The Democrats lost because the US is not a socialist/communist system. Americans fought against Nazi Germany, their socialist party, and communist USSR for decades, just to name a few.

Again, Clinton supported deregulation and introduced FTAs like NAFTA. That is why the US economy was strong during his administration. McCain also supports deregulation and fights for FTAs like NAFTA. These initiatives will help our economy. Our economy is very important, McCain is better for our economy. I hope people get educated before they vote.

US businesses create US jobs. obama wants to limit the growth of US businesses, which is limiting the growth of US jobs. If you increase tax on US businesses they will either just relocate to a lower tax country taking American jobs with them, pass the added tax cost to consumers or go bankrupt. GM and Ford can barely compete globally and obama wants to tax them more. The smaller businesses that are reliant on GM and Ford will also be greatly affected, destroying more US jobs.

The US is the land of opportunity not the land of equal outcome. Why should government take your money and give it to people who are already on welfare to spread the wealth?

  2. dream on. smear is smear is smear. im sure one of the greatest individuals in our countries, colin powell, is as dull as you suggest and would actually make a decision of this caliber based on on single issue, race, alone. mccain is on the wrong side of history and its time for you to rethink your current positions.

  3. i dont say anything about race in the entire article above my friend. the article is bemoaning the fact that the left is accepting the powell endorsement and that is hypocritical. dont worry i have an article coming out tommorrow that argues that black voters in america are the only racist block in the 2008 election check it out im sure youll enjoy my smears
